The Navy Blue and Red Letterman Jacket is assembled from those two facts, then finished with knit trims that keep weather out at the openings. Everything else follows from there.

Leather darkens at the elbows, wool keeps its color, knit trims stay tight. Nothing about the build asks to be handled gently, which is the point of the whole thing.
